Glen Canyon Dam

The following pictures were taken from Dan and Missy's backyard.
They are Federal Rangers at the Glen Canyon National Recreational Area.

Glen Canyon on average has approximately 4 million people pass through each summer.
Page Arizona is the central town of this area. It sits at the top of Glen Canyon,
approximately 7,500ft above sea level. The Colorado River snakes though this area.
The canyon walls have sheer drops of 850-900ft high. Truly a breathtaking sight.
This area is so vast that the only way to warn vistors of the extreme danger is to post
huge warning signs every so often. You quickly reminded of the vast size of this area.

Glen Canyon is one of 10 of the most visisted National Parks in North America. This area
sits about 50 miles Northeast of what is known as the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
There are many famous sites to visit in this area, with Antelope Canyon
one of the most awe inspiring.

The following pictures can be spliced together for a wider panoramic view.
The platau across the lake is about 5 miles across and about 800ft high.
The area in which we are looking is called - Page/Wahweap.

If you look closely, you can see the huge power lines crossing the canyon

Dorothy and the dog sitting in front of the canyon
you can't see it until you walk upon it! Scarey stuff if its you're first visit!
